Composite Tek: A Division of Mobile Energy Solutions
A composite is a material made up of two or more constituent materials. Engineered composites are continuous fibers suspended in a resin matrix, oriented in various directions to achieve desired part strength and stiffness. Fibers may be carbon, fiberglass, Kevlar, polyester, nylon, ceramic, quartz, or boron materials. These fibers can be in the form of tow (i.e. yarn or string), tape, random fiber mat, or woven cloth. The resin material is typically a thermoplastic, polyester, vinyl ester, phenolic, or epoxy. Resins give the composite its shape and provide a medium through which loads are transferred from one fiber to the other. Composites offer tremendous advantages in many applications: light weight, high strength, high stiffness, superior corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, to name the most important. The unique construction of composites allow them to be tailor-made to achieve the performance and material properties you need.

Winding Process CompositeTek's history spans three decades of designing and fabricating various composite parts. These parts have been primarily used in commercial and industrial market sectors such as robotics, data storage, medical imaging equipment, and transportation-related components. In 2005 Mobile Energy Solutions acquired CompositeTek's engineering group to facilitate design and use of lightweight, corrosion-resistant materials in the company's transit projects.

CompositeTek's tried and tested engineers and designers can help your project be successful by appropriately applying the unique properties of composite materials to your application. For more information, or to obtain a quote, please call us at (303) 868-4622.
